Earnings

• In 2002, over 50s in the EU earned on average €2375.49 per month³
• In comparison, 30-39 years olds earned €2240.05 per month and 40-49 year olds earned €2310.65 per month^4,5
• Over 50s earned on average less than 30-39 or 40-49 year olds in Czech Republic, Estonia, Iceland, Latvia and UK ^3,4,5

Unemployment

• There are currently 3.5 million unemployed 50-64 year olds in the EU⁶
• Spain, (837,000), France, (582,000) and UK, (345,000) have the highest amount of unemployed over 50s
