PEOPLE has been set up thanks to funding from the E.U.s Leonardo Da Vinci programme to develop best practice and integrate work in relation to education and training, employment, research and campaigning on behalf of older working age people (50-65+).

Wise Owls is the lead body who, with its partner organisations from Czech, France, Slovakia and Spain is developing a network aiming to improve matters for the 'baby-boomer' generation. In addition we have non-funded partners from Italy and hope to include partners from every EU country. The work programme includes 5 workshops/conferences . The first was the Paris conference on October 26th-27th 2010. It was agreed to set up specialist groups to produce best practice guides and prepare for conferences on: research into ageism and employment; co-ordination of education and change campaigns; a lobby of older workers; plus develop a library of best practice guides on employment support and learning for over 50s.

Wise Owls is a member of Age Platform Europe and PEOPLE and will work in partnership with AGE to raise the profile of and help disadvantaged over 50s.
