Summary: Using the Freedom of Information Act to conduct an Age Audit of County Council and London Borough Council employees. Their exising workforce, their recruitment and redundancies of employees by age. To see if ageism is taking place in recruitment and redundancy by age.

Summary: Using the Freedom of Information Act to conduct an Age Audit of County Council and London Borough Council employees. The purpose being to provide an initial baseline figure for the working age of all employees in order to see whether future employment of
1) Age Audit Overview Research into Community and Voluntary Sector in Hackney (2006)
Summary: This research was conducted in the London borough of Hackney in 2006
The Older Person's Experience of Training and Employment Support in East London (July 2004)
Summary: This research was conducted across nine boroughs in East London over a six month period commencing October 2003 and finishing April 2004. Over 1000 people over the age of 50 were interviewed and asked about their experiences of training and support both in their work situation, or if they were unemployed.
Executive Summary of Final Research Report into Discrimination
Summary: Wise Owls interviewed over 600 businesses on whether they employed disabled, minority, asylum seeker, young and old people: The report listed their problems / suggested solutions on dealing with these groups.
Final Report on Promoting Diversity Seminars (Sept 2003)
Summary: Wise Owls, in conjunction with ACAS, ran a series of free seminars to businesses on the benefits of diversity to their business, which included an update on recent changes in employment law.
An Overview into the Business Needs of Organisations
Summary: This research was required to give us a better understanding of the needs of businesses in the local East London area, and to discover whether the age of a prospective employee was a determining factor when an organisation was looking to employ new staff.
The Incidence and Impact of Ageism Amongst the Over 45s
Summary: The need for this research was highlighted by the level of the incidence of ageism as experienced and articulated by our own client group which is the over 45’s seeking employment, better employment or self employment living in London, mainly East London. |
