Who are we?

Wise Owls is the UK's first (1999) and leading specialist training and employment 'not for profit' enterprise assisting older (45-65+) people with employability and vocational training, and in securing suitable paid employment. We have now expanded to offer help to all eligible unemployed adults facing exclusion. Plus we Research and campaign against ageism and represent older workers needs and views. We aim to provide a professional service which puts the needs of our clients foremost.


What are we offering job-seekers?

Wise Owls can help you if you are over 50 and looking for employment, training or self employment. For the past 10 years Wise Owls has been leading the way in helping older workers (45-65+) get the sympathetic support, training and employment they need giving London’s employers the skilled, experienced staff they want. The result of this campaigning and related work is that we have 3000 plus contacts with employers in London are now recognising the advantages of employing people from different age groups and equality backgrounds to meet diverse customer needs, and want employees with experience and commitment. We offer vacancies for full and part time work, permanent and temporary, for a wide variety of skills and sectors. We offer all our clients free help on-line, supported by phone.

Our Current Projects:

50+ Unemployed Adults: 

Experience Works, our new project is seeking to build on the success of their last 2 years programme to help older people with sympathetic Information, advice and guidance, training, help with applications and interviews, work experience opportunities and active job matching. Currently we can only offer personalised support to those people who we are paid by the public sector funding bodies to help. We work with the Learning and Skills Council, London Councils, Job Centre Plus and other national, London and local bodies to help unemployed people into work.

CARERS AND FORMER CARERS:

We can offer face to face support where we are running specific projects for our clients who meet our funders’ criteria (for Care 2 Work you must be over 50, be a carer or former carer, live in London and be workless). For more information click here.

Through our Train 2 Gain programme, we can provide Training Needs Analyses which would help you access free sector – specific training at the right level for you.
